Why Changing Your Car's Oil Can Save You Thousands

Changing and checking the oil is the most common and sound piece of advice given to car owners. It's not because old-timers just want to remind you of yet another menial task that you have to do as an adult. No, it's because these older guys know just how important it is to make sure the engine and all of its parts are running smoothly.

Without oil, all of the moving parts of the engine would create so much friction that the block could overheat in a very bad way. This can cost thousands of dollars or result in the need to replace your vehicle. None of that sounds good.

But why does this happen when the engine is full of oil? Black, overused oil is still oil, right? Well, yes and no. After a period of time (usually every six months or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first) the oil in the engine will catch particulates and clump as a result of normal cycles through the engine and the oil filter. This means that, even if your engine is full of bad oil, friction can still occur.

No one wants to deal with this clumpy, black goop. Luckily (dealer) can help. If you don't know anything about vehicles, the good people here at (dealer) would be more than happy to take care of the oil change and can even place a reminder on your windshield so that you don't have to even think about when you should change your oil.
